Foundation Regards de Provence

The history of the Foundation Regards de Provence – Reflets of de Méditerranée is above all a family adventure and is about shared passions for the arts. From the paintings of the XVIIIth to the XIXth centuries in particular to the contemporary works, the attraction of the founders, Pierre and Michèle Dumon, for the plastic arts in general has increased gradually over the years.

Their attachment for Provence and the Mediterranean edges, their wishes to share their passion for the arts inspired by the South and to prolong this artistic craze for arts, induced them to create the Foundation Regards de Provence - Reflets de Méditerranée - in 1997. Its aims are to gather, present, promote and develop the ancient and contemporary artistic painting heritage of Provence and the Mediterranean Sea in the Provence nationally and internationally.
The Association of the Friends of the Foundation Regards de Provence was created in 1998, whose mission is to allow the Foundation to enforce its goals.

All year around, it organizes four collective or individuals exhibitions, with art pieces from the Foundation collection (about 700 paintings) and from private or public collections and national and international museums too.

Personalities of the artistic, cultural and associative arena, local public entities, regional, national and international companies, and various members have joined the Association to participate at the promotion of the artistic creation influenced by the South, from the XVIII century until today.

The Foundation organizes biannually an International Contest of Artistic Creation, allowing discovering and celebrating young artists.
